Dr. Jana Lipps is a Postdoctoral researcher in the European Politics group at the Center for International and Comparative Studies. Currently, she conducts research in the framework of the ERC funded Project „EUROBORD“ on the reconfiguration of EU external boundaries in a geopoliticized context. She leads the data collection on EU external boundary transactions.

Jana has previously studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (B.A.) and Science Po Toulouse, and holds a joint Master Degree by ETH and University of Zurich. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2021 from ETH Zurich. In her dissertation, she investigated the link between EU market integration and spatial inequality, as well as their attitudinal implications. Her work was published in Political Science Research and Methods and in the European Journal of Political Research. Moreover, she is interested in the institutional design of International Organizations and in particular International Parliamentary Institutions. She contributed to the book project „The rise of international parliaments - Strategic legitimation in International Organizations“ and published on attendance to international parliamentary institutions in the European Journal on International Relations.
